Job summary

Austin is seeking an experienced nurse leader to supervise and coordinate personnel, materials, and sterile processing in the operating room. The role requires strong communication, analytical skills, and a patient-centric approach.

Candidates should have 5 years of OR experience and at least 1 year of progressive leadership, with a Texas RN license and ACLS/BLS credentials. A Bachelor’s in Nursing is preferred, and work is typically 8:00–5:00, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• 5 years operating room experience minimum.
• 1 year previous progressive leadership experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Active RN License for State of Texas.
• ACLS/BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate activities of personnel, materials and sterile processing in the operating room.
• Ensure adherence to procedures and schedules.
• Supervise procurement and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Support quality control and performance improvement plans within the department.

Job Purpose: Responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of personnel, materials and sterile processing within the operating room.

DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Ensure adherence to procedures and schedules.
• Supervise the procurement and maintenance of equipment and supplies
• Support quality control and performance improvement plans within the department.
• Supervise day to day functions of the operating rooms, operating room schedules and sterile processing
• Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Must possess excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Must be understanding, caring, and patient at all times
• Ability to multitask
• Must be flexible in carrying out his/her duties.
• Knowledge of methods and equipment used in the operating rooms

• Must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time
