Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a qualified Surgical Equipment Technician to support the surgical team with the application and operation of specialized equipment in the operating room.

Four years of hospital experience and two years in an operating room are required. You will troubleshoot equipment during critical moments, educate staff, coordinate maintenance with Clinical Engineering, and help maintain Joint Commission readiness.

Qualifications

• Four years of hospital experience.
• Two years of operating room experience.
• BLS within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Proper use of equipment after training with knowledge of surgical environment.
• Troubleshoot failed equipment during critical times in the OR and other Surgical Services areas.
• Educate staff to operate and troubleshoot equipment.
• Inventory surgical specialty equipment with leadership.
• Participate in performance improvement to address concerns.
• Support Joint Commission readiness.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance with Clinical Engineering and vendors.
