Job summary

Orlando Health ORMC seeks a Learning Specialist to provide general and specialty education for OR team members in a fast-paced Level I Trauma Center. You will coordinate orientation, support quality and safety initiatives, and partner with Corporate Education to maintain clinical competence.

Minimum two years of Cardio or RN experience, BSN, and current Florida RN license with mandatory certifications (BLS; ACLS/TNCC as required). Within two years, obtain a national specialty certification.

Qualifications

• BSN required and registered as RN in Florida or eNLC multistate license.
• National specialty certification must be obtained within two years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Enhances clinical competence of team members via Education Action Plan and annual Needs Assessment.
• Develops and coordinates the orientation process for assigned areas, meets with orientees and nursing leadership as needed.
• Participates in quality and safety initiatives to improve practice and meet standards.
• Collaborates with Corporate Education to assess ongoing competence of clinical team members.
• Plans, develops, coordinates and evaluates unit-specific programs to maintain or increase skills and knowledge.
• Integrates adult learning principles into all programs.
• Facilitates professional development through educational courses and conferences.
• Maintains EMR proficiency including Sunrise documentation.
• Serves as a preceptor for Learning Specialist I roles.
