Job summary

Trinity Health in Michigan is seeking a Surgical Technologist for a full-time, 12-hour day shift to support operating room teams. You will assist surgeons, maintain aseptic technique, handle instrument processing, and cover weekend shifts and on-call as required by the collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons by selecting, organizing, anticipating, and passing surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment as directed by the surgeon.
• Maintain highest aseptic technique during all procedures, including attire, hand scrub, gowning, gloving, and traffic patterns.
• Identify breaches in aseptic technique and implement interventions.
• Perform all reprocessing steps: decontamination, tray assembly, sterilization, documentation, and resolution of parameter failures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Description:

What the Surgical Technologist Will Do:

• Provides assistance as necessary to surgeons and residents by selecting, organizing, anticipating and passing surgical instruments, medical supplies, equipment, and provides retraction under the direction of the surgeon.
• Maintains highest standard of aseptic technique during all operative procedures, including surgical attire, surgical hand scrub, surgical gowning of self and team, surgical gloving of self and team, boundary between sterile and non-sterile areas, and traffic patterns.
• Identifies breaches in aseptic technique and implements interventions for resolution.
• Performs all phases of reprocessing including decontamination, tray assembly, sterilization, documentation, and problem resolution for parameter failure.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

What the Surgical Technologist Will Need :

What a Surgical Technologist will work:

• Full time
• 72 hours per pay period
• Three 12 hour shifts per week; 0645-1915 with some variability; work days will be every Saturday and Sunday with one variable week day shift.
• Weekends, call and holidays to be scheduled in accordance with CBA
