Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA seeks an Operating Room Attendant to support surgical staff by transporting patients to pre-op areas and helping prepare the OR suite before procedures.

The role includes cleaning OR suites between cases, stocking anesthesia supplies, transporting specimens, and assisting in patient positioning under supervision; evening shift Monday to Friday 3pm–11pm.

Qualifications

• HSD/GED Degree REQUIRED.
• BLS Certification within 90 days of hire.
• Prior Environmental Services or operating room experience PREFERRED.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients from inpatient/ER/ICU to pre-op holding area.
• Clean operating room suites between procedures.
• Stock anesthesia supplies and clean anesthesia machines.
• Transport specimens and blood products to the lab.
• Assist in positioning surgical patients under guidance.
• Prepare the OR by opening sterile supplies and ensuring equipment availability.
