Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking an Operating Room Attendant in Norfolk, VA. You will transport patients to the pre-op area, assist with cleaning and setup of the OR, and support anesthesia staff with supplies and equipment.

The role requires a HSD/GED, BLS within 90 days, and prior Environmental Services or OR experience is preferred. Excellent teamwork is essential in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• HSD/GED required; BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Prior Environmental Services or operating room experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients from inpatient/ER/ICU to the pre-op holding area.
• Clean operating room suites between procedures.
• Stock anesthesia supplies and assist with anesthesia machines.
• Transport specimens and blood products to the lab; stock formalin containers.
• Assist in positioning patients under guidance of OR staff; prepare the room with sterile supplies.
