Job summary

Bayhealth Medical Center is seeking an OR Attendant for the Kent Campus. This full‑time role is scheduled for evenings and supports the surgical team with asepsis, room turnover, patient transport, and equipment handling within the operating room environment.

Responsibilities include organized cleaning, assisting with patient positioning, and ensuring supplies and logs are properly maintained. Prior OR/nursing assistant or Central Supply experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: Prior operating room attendant or nursing assistant, Central Supply and/or Environmental Services experience preferred.
• Ability to maintain asepsis and assist in OR safety and housekeeping processes.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe, confidential, and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
• Performs organized cleaning of operating rooms and turnover to meet perioperative goals.
• Assists with transporting patients to/from the OR and supports positioning for spinal anesthesia as directed.
• Ensures supplies are available and logs for sterility and cleanliness are maintained.
• Communicates with Nurse Manager and team; supports staff with equipment and safety procedures.
