Job summary

UNC Health is seeking an Operating Room Assistant to support the surgical team by performing assigned tasks that contribute to patient comfort and safety in the operating room. This per diem role is based at Wayne UNC Health Care in North Carolina and requires flexibility to cover a variety of shifts.

Qualified applicants have completed state approved Level I or II Nurse Aide training, hold current NC Nurse Aide registry, and CPR/BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Completion of state approved Level I or II Nurse Aide training and competency evaluation.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current NC Nurse Aide I/II registry listing and CPR/BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe, quality patient care within scope of practice.
• Transports specimens per policies and guidelines.
• Performs daily cleaning in assigned areas per schedules and policies.
• Identifies and transports patients within, to, and from operating rooms per policy.
• Assists in transporting case carts to decontamination area and supports OR teammates as needed.
