Job summary

IU Health Methodist in downtown Indianapolis, a Level 1 Trauma center, seeks an Operating Room Assistant for full-time evening shift. You will support the surgical team before, during and after surgery, assist with OR preparation, cleaning, equipment transport and sterile supplies.

You will collaborate with surgeons, nurses and techs to ensure smooth operations. Requirements include a High School Diploma/GED, preferred hospital experience, and AHA BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma/GED.
• Previous hospital experience preferred.
• AHA Basic Life Support for healthcare workers certification required.
• Requires strict adherence to policies and regulations regarding maintenance of sterile field.
• Requires physical stamina and proper lifting techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assist with operating room preparation by cleaning, procuring equipment and opening sterile supplies.
• Provide transportation and needed assistance with patient care.
• Assists Surgical Techs and Nurses with various assigned duties. Works as a member of the surgical team with surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses, surgical technologists and other surgical personnel.

This is a full time evening shift role. No weekends required!
