Job summary

Playground Global is seeking a senior Capital-Raising Lead in Palo Alto to identify deal opportunities, build a lead investor network, and guide portfolio companies through fundraising journeys and exits.

You will synthesize qualitative and quantitative data into compelling narratives, advise on M&A approaches, and collaborate with Investment, Marketing, and IR teams to position Playground's portfolio for successful financings in the US market.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of capital-raising leadership for technology companies.
  • Proven track record closing lead investors at late-stage tech firms.
  • Experience in investment banking, corporate development, or venture capital.
  • Extensive investor, acquirer, and advisor network.
  • Authorization to work full-time in the United States; visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and research deal activity across the portfolio and target sectors.
  • Develop a fundraising playbook for portfolio companies.
  • Advise portfolio companies on funding journeys, lead investors, and LP relationships.
  • Foster relationships with CFOs, board members, and senior executives.
  • Coordinate with Investor Relations and Marketing on fundraising narratives.
  • Assist with data rooms, financial models, and M&A/IPO strategy.

Job description

Identify and research deal activity in Playground Global's key sectors
Develop a fundraising playbook for portfolio companies
Advise portfolio companies throughout their funding journeys and across the funding lifecycle
Identify lead investors and coordinate with the Investor Relations team on follow-on LP investors
Foster senior executive relationships, including CFOs and independent board members
Cultivate relationships with later-stage venture, growth, crossover, and secondary investors
Facilitate commercial and strategic introductions among portfolio companies, network relationships, and prospects
Advise portfolio companies on M&A activities, suitable partners, investment strategies, and relationships supporting M&A and IPO outcomes
Inform portfolio companies about customer-vertical trends and strategic priorities
Synthesize qualitative and quantitative data into narratives about company performance
Provide strategic guidance to the investment team on potential investments and M&A opportunities
Collaborate with marketing on Playground's perspective in the area of expertise
Strategize with Investor Relations to identify LPs for potential direct investment
Learn portfolio needs for successful fundraises or exits within 6-12 months
Network with later-stage capital able to write lead term sheets
Attend relevant banker and industry events
Assist portfolio companies with data rooms and financial models for fundraising, partnerships, and acquisitions

Requirements
  • 10+ years of relevant experience leading capital-raising efforts for technology companies
  • Track record of identifying and closing lead investors at later-stage technology companies
  • Experience may come from investment banking, corporate development, or venture capital
  • Strong network with investors, acquirers, and advisors
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Independent execution and collaboration skills
  • Solid project management skills with internal and external constituents
  • Ability to devise creative deal approaches and solutions to complex challenges
  • Currently authorized to work full-time in the United States
  • Not eligible for employment visa sponsorship
