Job summary

Metro’s Portland Expo Center is seeking an experienced Operating Engineer to join the Facilities team. You will operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems to support a variety of events at the Expo Center and Oregon Convention Center.

You will use BAS and CMMS daily, perform preventive maintenance, coordinate with event teams and vendors, and ensure safety and reliability of critical building systems for exhibitors and guests.

Qualifications

  • Two years of experience as an operating engineer in a large public events facility or similar.
  • Oregon LME license or higher and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, maintain, and repair HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Use BAS to monitor performance, troubleshoot, and optimize operations.
  • Maintain and repair building systems and generic facility equipment.
  • Document work in CMMS and manage preventive maintenance programs.
