Job summary

Manpower Group (USA) in Charlotte, NC seeks an Operating Engineer to join the Facilities Maintenance team. You will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot building systems across multiple floors to ensure reliable operations.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of experience with commercial systems, EPA 608 certification, and proficiency with work orders and MS Office. Day shift with some on-call responsibilities; opportunity to convert to full-time.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.
• EPA 608 Universal Certification.
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Proficiency with work order systems and basic computer applications like Word and Excel.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across various systems
• Perform preventive maintenance on Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems
• Monitor and record equipment performance, making adjustments to ensure optimal operation
• Manage inventory, purchase supplies, and oversee contracted maintenance work
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment

As an Operating Engineer, you will be part of the Facilities Maintenance Department supporting the building operations team.
