Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking an Operating Engineer for a 12-hour shift at the Rocky Mount, NC facility. The role focuses on maintaining processing equipment, facilities, and utility systems, with emphasis on safety, cGMP alignment, and accurate documentation.

You will read blueprints, interpret electrical schematics, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance, using CMMS and various hand tools. The position requires compliance with SOPs and company safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Knowledge of general trades including electrical, mechanical, and shopSafety practices.
• a working knowledge of electromechanical systems is a plus.
• Computer skills are a must.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret detailed blueprints and schematics.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repair of facility equipment.
• Troubleshoot basic AC/DC components (relays, motors, sensors).
• Coordinate maintenance and PM activities with production personnel.
• Maintain good documentation and adhere to safety rules.

Operating Engineer - 12 Hr The Operating Engineer performs maintenance, preventative maintenance, adjustments, troubleshooting, minor and major repair of process equipment, the general facility, and utility equipment. This position must adhere to all SOPs, cGMPs, and plant quality, safety, and documentation systems requirements. Other related duties are essential to these operations or special assignments as required. This position ensures electrical and mechanical systems function adequately to minimize down time.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reads and interprets detailed blueprints and schematics
• Reads and understand basic electrical schematics
• Use of CMMS work order systems
• Troubleshoots basic ac and dc components. (Example: relays, motors, sensors)
• Uses electrical testing equipment including multimeters, clamp-on current meters, meggers, etc. in a safe manner.
• Uses tools such as portable saws, shears, brake, punch press, drill press and various other hand tools
• Remedies machine breakdowns in a prompt, skillful manner
• Makes useful recommendations regarding improved machine performance
• Performs preventative maintenance and repair of facility equipment
• Interprets and understand mechanical drawings
• Coordinates maintenance and PM activities with production personnel
• Perform other related duties as assigned or required
• Ensuring adherence to all plant safety rules and completion of required training
• Good documentation is a must

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• High school/GED with no less than 2 years manufacturing plant maintenance preferred
• Knowledge of the general trades: i.e., construction, electrical, machine shop, plumbing, painting, mechanical, hydraulics.
• Knowledge of basic mathematics
• Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
• Must know general shop safety practices including handling and storage of potentially dangerous equipment
• A working knowledge of electromechanical systems is a plus
• Computer skills is a must

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

• Stand up to 8-12 hours per shift
• Sit for up to 2-4 hours per shift
• Twist at waist 10 times per hour
• Regularly lift up to 20 pounds per activity 5 times per shift
• Occasionally lift a maximum of 50 pounds per activity 1 time per shift
• Walk, climb stairs, climb ladders/walk on catwalks

LOCATION

Rocky Mount, NC. This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Location: On-site –Rocky Mount, NC
