Job summary

Florentine Opera seeks an Education & Community Engagement Manager to design and execute a broad portfolio of learning programs. This role connects professional opera production with the Greater Milwaukee area, ensuring curriculum-aligned, accessible programming for diverse audiences.

The position oversees Opera in Schools, in-class residencies, touring programs, and community outreach including OWL content and Schools on Stage partnerships.

Qualifications

• Degree in Music Education or related field preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in arts education, community engagement, and/or nonprofit arts administration.
• Strong knowledge of vocal music, opera production, and curriculum design frameworks.
• Ability to teach basic music to students of all ages.
• Multi-lingual capability preferred: conversational Spanish and basic proficiency in French, German, and Italian pronunciation.

Responsibilities

• Lead Opera in Schools Tour: manage bookings, rehearsals, scheduling and transport coordination.
• Design and deliver in-class residency content tied to curriculum needs.
• Curate Touring Recital Series for schools, universities, and community centers.
• Develop OWL: accessible virtual music education content, including asynchronous delivery.
• Oversee Schools on Stage partnerships and backstage student engagement.
