Job summary

Opera Theatre of Saint Louis is seeking an organized Artistic Assistant to provide essential administrative, operational, and financial support to the Artistic Department. You will coordinate artistic activities, personnel processes, and data management, working with senior leadership to ensure smooth execution of priorities.

The role requires collaboration across Finance, Marketing, and Operations, with attention to detail, proactive problem solving, and the ability to manage multiple

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 2–3 years of experience in arts administration, nonprofit administration, operations support, project coordination, or related field.
• Appreciation for opera, classical music, or the performing arts.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and operational support for artistic activities and department priorities.
• Manage staff schedules and assist with payroll and visa processing for artists.
• Coordinate communication between Artistic Operations, Finance, Marketing and other stakeholders.
• Support artist services and related administrative needs with the Company Manager.
• Review and coordinate artistic and marketing materials for accuracy and consistency.
• Track departmental expenses monthly and support budget tracking and invoicing.
• Maintain ArtsVision records and operational data with leadership.
• Provide on-site support during performances, rehearsals, auditions, and events.
