Job summary

Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer I - ACS (Openshift SME) to lead OpenShift deployment, integration, and governance within the ACS team in San Diego. You will drive container platform operations, robust software design, and secure DevSecOps practices.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in CS, 6+ years of software engineering experience, and a current US security clearance. Occasional travel to CONUS/OCONUS locations is possible as part of the job responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• Six or more (6+) years of experience in a software engineering role.
• An existing US Security Clearance (Interim SECRET or above).
• Security+/DOD IAT Level II Certification required.
• Experience researching, installing, and testing software updates, patches and hotfixes.
• 4+ years of hands‑on experience building, deploying, and managing containerized applications (Docker, etc.).
• 4+ years with container orchestration platforms such as OpenShift or Kubernetes.
• Hands on experience with RHEL, Ansible, and Python.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Pursuant to government requirements, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens.

Responsibilities

• Train and enable the development team in deploying and maintaining OpenShift.
• Manage the container platform ecosystem (installation, upgrades, patching, monitoring).
• Assist in change management for new OpenShift versions and hotfixes.
• Design and integrate software powering infrastructure services for data mediation and orchestration.
• Integrate multi‑functional apps into container-based services.
• Write well designed, testable code meeting requirements.
• Participate in a collaborative Agile/SCRUM environment and drive quality.
