Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced OpenShift Engineer to design, deploy, administer, and support enterprise container platforms using Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with containerization, CI/CD, automation, Linux, cloud platforms, and production troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, configure, and administer Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) clusters.
- Manage OpenShift/Kubernetes resources including Pods, Deployments, Services, Routes, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Operators, and Persistent Volumes.
- Perform cluster upgrades, patching, scaling, health checks, and capacity management.
- Troubleshoot application, networking, storage, node, and cluster-level issues.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or similar tools.
- Automate infrastructure and deployment activities using Ansible, Terraform, Helm, and scripting.
- Manage container images and registries such as Red Hat Quay, Docker Registry, or AWS ECR.
- Configure OpenShift networking, ingress/routes, security policies, RBAC, and authentication.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, and OpenShift monitoring.
- Work with development and DevOps teams to deploy and support microservices-based applications.
- Support OpenShift integrations with enterprise storage, databases, cloud services, and networking infrastructure.
- Ensure platform security, availability, scalability, and compliance.
- Participate in production deployments, incident management, root-cause analysis, and disaster recovery activities.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and deployment standards.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Red OpenShift / OCP.
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes architecture and administration.
- Experience with Docker/Podman and container technologies.
- Strong Linux/RHEL administration and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
- Experience with Helm and Kubernetes/OpenShift manifests.
- Knowledge of YAML, Bash/Shell scripting, and automation.
- Experience with Ansible and/or Terraform.
- Knowledge of OpenShift networking, security, RBAC, routes, ingress, and storage.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK.
- Strong troubleshooting and production support experience.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Red Hat certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, or Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration.
- Experience with OpenShift Operators and Operator Lifecycle Manager (OLM).
- Experience with Service Mesh / Istio.
- Knowledge of GitOps tools such as Argo CD or Flux.
- Experience with Terraform, Ansible Tower/AWX, or other infrastructure automation platforms.
- Experience with enterprise storage solutions such as NetApp, Ceph, or Portworx.
- Experience supporting highly available and production-grade OpenShift environments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Cloud Infrastructure, or Platform Engineering.
- 3+ years of hands-on OpenShift administration/engineering experience preferred.
- Strong communication, analytical, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills.
