Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in Santa Clara, CA, is seeking a Software Development Engineer for the OpenSearch team. You will design, develop, and operate high-throughput, multi-tenant cloud systems and contribute to core features using Java and Rust.

You will tackle challenging problems across the full stack, including data ingestion, query optimization, security, and multi-tenant infrastructure, while ensuring high availability and security for customers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and support high throughput, distributed, multi-tenant, cloud native systems.
• Produce bullet-proof code that is robust, efficient and maintainable; our primary languages are Java and Rust.
• Leading development and maintenance of key system features for Amazon OpenSearch Service
• Designing and building scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems
• Work on challenging problems in data ingestion, auto-scaling, data storage, search optimization and query optimization, security, machine learning and more.
• Identify and advocate for operational improvements, reducing maintenance and development cost
