Job summary

Amazon OpenSearch Service in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a Software Development Engineer to help design, build and operate scalable, distributed systems for log analytics and search workloads.

You will work across Rust, Java, Python, and AWS services to deliver reliable control and data plane components, tackle data ingestion, auto-scaling, and security, and collaborate with a cross-functional team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and support high throughput, highly available, distributed, multi-tenant, cloud native systems.
• Produce bullet-proof code that is robust, efficient and maintainable; our primary languages are Java and Rust.
• Leading development and maintenance of key system features for Amazon OpenSearch Service
• Designing and building scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems
• Work on challenging problems in data ingestion, auto-scaling, data storage, search optimization and query optimization, security, machine learning and more.
• Identify and advocate for operational improvements, reducing maintenance and development cost
