Job summary

Amazon OpenSearch Service seeks a Senior Software Development Engineer to design, develop, and operate a scalable search platform for AWS users. You will work on OpenSearch OSS, contribute upstream, and tackle distributed systems, AI, and analytics challenges in a fast-paced environment.

You will lead architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and push for high availability, security, and performance across deployments in the cloud.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one programming language.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support a world-class search platform for OpenSearch customers.
• Produce robust, efficient, and maintainable Java/Python code.
• Work on OpenSearch open-source software with opportunities to contribute upstream.
• Lead architecture decisions and mentor other engineers on the team.
• Drive evolution of distributed systems, AI, data storage, and security.
