Job summary

STV, Inc. seeks an OpenRoads Designer (ORD) Specialist in its Water Group to provide leadership, technical guidance, and mentorship in Water-Wastewater design across our offices nationwide.

You will lead, coordinate, and deliver ORD-driven solutions while aligning with CAD protocols and BIM standards. The role emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams, client interaction, model-driven plan sheets, and maintaining design consistency.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of AEC industry experience with a strong focus on Microstation/ORD utility relocation design.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to participate in cross-functional teams.
• Ability to solve problems and carry out responsibilities with minimal supervision.
• Work on multiple projects simultaneously under aggressive timelines.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and coordination of 3D utility models in OpenRoads, including complex vertical geometry, utility crossings, and conflict resolution with roadway and drainage elements.
• Collaborate with technical and design teams to develop, implement, and maintain company-wide BIM standards, procedures, and protocols.
• Interface directly with clients and STV engineers to define CAD deliverables, ensuring projects are executed as per agreed-upon CAD protocols.
• Establish and maintain model-driven plan and profile sheets using OpenRoads drawing and sheet models, ensuring consistency throughout design revisions.
• Mentor and provide technical oversight to junior designers and EITs in ORD workflows and standards.
• Troubleshoot complex OpenRoads modeling and sheet production issues, providing solutions that balance software capability, standards compliance, and project schedules.
