Job summary

STV, Inc. is seeking an OpenRoads Designer (ORD) Specialist in its Water Group to lead and mentor teams in water-wastewater design nationwide. The role focuses on coordinating 3D utility models, OpenRoads workflows, and client deliverables with strong CAD protocol adherence.

The candidate should bring hands-on ORD design experience, collaboration skills, and a proactive approach to resolving complex model and sheet production challenges in fast-paced projects.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of AEC industry experience with a strong focus on Microstation/ORD utility relocation design.
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to participate in cross-functional teams.
• Ability to solve problems and work with minimal supervision.
• Experience managing multiple projects under aggressive timelines.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and coordination of 3D utility models in OpenRoads, including complex vertical geometry, utility crossings, and conflict resolution with roadway and drainage elements.
• Collaborate with technical and design teams to develop, implement, and maintain company-wide BIM standards, procedures, and protocols.
• Interface directly with clients and STV engineers to define CAD deliverables, ensuring projects are executed per CAD protocols.
• Establish and maintain model-driven plan and profile sheets using OpenRoads drawing and sheet models, ensuring consistency across revisions.
• Mentor and provide technical oversight to junior designers and EITs in ORD workflows and standards.
• Troubleshoot complex OpenRoads modeling and sheet production issues, balancing software capability, standards compliance, and schedules.
