Massey's Pizza in Grove City, OH is hiring an Opening Pizza Prep Cook for daytime hours. You will lead opening procedures, prep fresh items for lunch rush, stock the buffet, and complete prep for the night shift.

Ideal candidates have experience as a Pizza Cook or Line Cook, with a strong focus on reliability, independence, and food safety. This role offers a consistent daytime schedule and opportunities for growth within a busy central Ohio pizza operation.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Pizza Cook, Line Cook, or similar.
• Strong reliability and punctuality — you’re the one who opens the building
• Ability to work independently and stay productive without supervision
• Comfortable with batch cooking, portioning, and buffet presentation
• Knowledge of food safety, temperature logs, and proper storage
• Ability to lift 30–50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Responsibilities

• Open the restaurant and complete all BOH opening procedures
• Prepare lunch orders and ensure timely, accurate production
• Stock and maintain the buffet, including rotation, labeling, and freshness checks
• Complete daily prep for the evening shift (batching, portioning, chopping, cooking, etc.)
• Monitor inventory and communicate shortages or needs to management
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards throughout the shift
• Keep kitchen stations organized and ready for handoff to the PM crew
• Document prep levels and leave clear notes for the night shift

About the Role

We’re seeking a dependable and organized Opening Pizza Prep Cook to manage our kitchen during daytime hours. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys structure, takes pride in consistent prep work, and can keep the kitchen running smoothly from open through lunch service.

You’ll be responsible for opening procedures, preparing fresh items for the lunch rush, stocking and maintaining the buffet, and completing all prep needed for the night shift.
