Job summary

Hugging Face in the United States is seeking an Open-Source Machine Learning Engineer to advance the open-source ML ecosystem. You will work on established libraries like Transformers and Datasets and contribute to PyTorch and vLLM integrations, collaborating with a global community on GitHub, forums, and Slack.

You’ll mentor contributors, review PRs, and help shape how researchers, engineers, and data scientists build and deploy models at scale, with a focus on accessibility and performance

Qualifications

• Strong Python skills, with experience writing clean, well-tested, maintainable library code.
• Deep hands-on experience with a modern deep-learning framework, especially PyTorch (JAX or TensorFlow a plus).
• Practical experience with the Hugging Face open-source stack (Transformers, Datasets, Accelerate) or comparable ML libraries.
• A public track record of open-source contributions on GitHub.
