Job summary

NC State University’s School of Social Work in Raleigh invites applications for an open-rank professional-track faculty position. Hires may be part-time or full-time, and candidates are expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching and advising.

Primary teaching responsibilities will be in the School’s BSW and/or MSW programs, with a typical load of four courses per semester for a full-time faculty member; opportunities for community extension, engagement, and service to the school and

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in social work and at least 2 years of post-master’s-degree social work practice experience is required for the rank of Lecturer.
• A Master’s degree in social work, at least 2 years of post-master’s-degree social work practice experience, and 5 years of college – level teaching experience are required for the rank of Senior Lecturer.
• A PhD, MSW, or equivalent terminal degree appropriate to the field, and at least 2 years of post-master’s-degree social work practice experience, is required for the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor.
• Alternative credentials may be considered.

Responsibilities

• The School of Social Work invites applications for an open-rank professional-track position. Hires for this position may be part-time or full-time. Professional-track faculty members are expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching and advising. Faculty members at .75 FTE or above may be expected to participate actively in community extension, engagement, and service to the school, college, university, and profession.
• We seek candidates with teaching experience in social work theory, practice, research, and policy.
• Primary teaching responsibilities will be in the School’s Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program and/or Master of Social Work (MSW) program.
• The typical teaching load is 4 courses per semester for a full-time (1.0 FTE) faculty member.
• Other duties as assigned by the Head of the School of Social Work.
