Job summary

The University of Texas at El Paso invites applications for an Open Rank Tenure/Tenure-Track Faculty position in Public Health Sciences. The Department seeks an established scholar to accelerate research in health informatics, AI applications, and population health analytics, with a focus on interdisciplinary collaborations.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in health informatics, health technology, health systems sciences, healthcare administration, or closely related discipline.
• Experience teaching health informatics and technology to graduate students.
• Evidence of scholarship in the field of expertise.
• Experience in development of grant proposals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain an independent, externally funded research program in health informatics with emphasis on AI, population health analytics, digital health innovations, and public health technology.
• Develop, deliver, and assess instruction of a concentration in health informatics.
• Provide academic advising/mentoring to graduate students.
• Foster interdisciplinary collaborations across the College of Health Sciences and throughout UTEP.
• Engage in service to the profession and community; and
• Other duties as assigned.
