Rutgers, The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin July 2027.

We seek a scholar whose research advances AI, information systems, data, and computational methods to improve health and healthcare. The faculty member will teach in the Master of Public Informatics and Health Administration programs (undergraduate, master's and doctoral) and collaborate across the university and health systems.

Qualifications

• Hold a doctoral degree by June 1, 2027 and demonstrate excellence in teaching and mentoring.
• Establish a research profile in high-impact journals and at major conferences.
• Experience with real-world clinical or public health data.
• Willingness to secure external grant funds and supervise doctoral students and postdocs.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the university, health systems and community partners.
• Demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching with inclusive and active practices.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in the Master of Public Informatics and Health Administration programs at undergraduate, master's and doctoral levels.
• Develop and advance a research program in health informatics and related fields.
• Advise and mentor doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers.
• Collaborate with health systems and community partners and pursue external funding.

Education

Doctoral degree in health informatics, health administration, biomedical informatics, computer science, data science, public health, economics or a related field
