Job summary

University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) invites applications for a full-time OB/GYN Hospitalist in Birmingham, AL. The role supports care for obstetric and gynecologic patients at the Women and Infant’s Center, including a Level 4 NICU and a 17-bed L&D unit, with 12-hour shifts and a mix of nights, weekends, and weekdays.

Candidates must have MD/DO in OB/GYN, be board-certified or eligible, and be eligible for Alabama licensure and a faculty appointment.

Qualifications

• MD or DO in Obstetrics and Gynecology
• Board-certified or board-eligible in OB/GYN
• Eligible for licensure in Alabama and for a faculty appointment at UAB

Responsibilities

• Supervision of obstetric team and hands-on clinical care in labor and delivery
• Management of Maternity Evaluation Unit (triage)
• Consultative gynecology care
• Full-spectrum OB/GYN hospitalist duties
• Education of residents and medical students
• Support of the department's educational and research mission
