Job summary

University of New Mexico seeks a Neurodevelopmental Disabilities specialist to join the Child Neurology team in Albuquerque. The role supports inpatient and outpatient care, leads the Continuum of Care clinic, and collaborates on statewide education and research initiatives.

Academic responsibilities include teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, plus opportunities for pilot funding and state-level program development.

Qualifications

• MD Degree or equivalent required.
• Board certified/eligible in Neurology or Neurology with special qualification in Child Neurology desired.

Responsibilities

• Outpatient management of adults and children with neurodevelopmental disabilities.
• Participation in rural outreach clinics.
• Inpatient coverage/call on child neurology consult service.
• General child neurology or specialty clinics; EEG coverage.
• Participation in multidisciplinary clinics including cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorders, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder.
• Administration of clinical programs at the Continuum of Care clinic.
• Long-term planning/strategy and state committees participation.
• Recruiting additional NDD faculty; groundwork for future NDD fellowship.
• Collaborating on statewide education in relation to neurodevelopmental disabilities.
• Serving as PI on state grants funding the Continuum of Care program.
