Job description

Position Summary

The University of New Mexico, Center for Development and Disability (CDD) in the Department of Pediatrics is seeking a faculty-level Clinical Psychologist in the Clinician Educator track to work within the Center's Early Childhood Programs providing diagnostic, developmental, and specialized evaluation with infants, toddlers and preschool-age children as well as therapeutic intervention for young children and families from a developmentally and trauma informed perspective. Considered candidates will have experience providing diagnostic evaluation services for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as well as other developmental and behavioral concerns in early childhood; they will also have experience providing evidence-based treatment/intervention with young children and families. This position also requires educational responsibilities including teaching and clinical supervision of psychology interns, pediatric interns/residents, postdoctoral fellows, and other interdisciplinary trainees/community members. Rank is dependent on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • PhD, PsyD, or equivalent in clinical, counseling, or school psychology from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • Current licensure as a Clinical Psychologist in New Mexico.
  • One-year experience in providing evaluation services for children birth to three in an interdisciplinary team setting.
  • One-year providing intervention services for children birth to five and their families.
  • One-year experience providing clinical supervision for psychology trainees.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bilingual Spanish and English language skills.
  • Completion of an APA accredited clinical internship.
  • Completion of a LEND training program at a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities.
  • Experience working as part of an interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience providing diagnostic evaluation for young children suspected of having ASD and/or other neurodevelopmental disorders.
  • Experience using the ADOS-2 in diagnostic evaluations.
  • Experience providing Child Parent Psychotherapy and/or Iowa PCIT.
  • A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities.
