Job summary

Athens State University seeks a full-time, tenure-track faculty member in Instructional Design and/or Educational Technology starting January 2027. The candidate will teach across modalities, design assessments, mentor students, supervise field experiences, and collaborate with local school systems to strengthen PDS partnerships.

Qualifications

• Instructional Design or related graduate degree with substantial study in the field
• Three years of classroom teaching, technology support, or instructional design experience
• Experience teaching online at college/university level in instructional design or educational technology
• Evidence of scholarly activity: research, publications, presentations
• Strong design and technology skills to mentor students
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication abilities
• Proven leadership, collaboration, and project management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Experience collaborating across departments and with partners

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Instructional Design or Educational Technology in various formats
• Design and deliver high-quality instruction and assessments
• Support student achievement, growth, and career readiness
• Maintain office hours and advise teacher candidates
• Serve on committees including accreditation and assessment initiatives
• Contribute to teaching, scholarship, service, and engagement
• Supervise teacher candidates during field and internships
• Support adjunct instructors for anchor courses
• Promote student performance on certification assessments and edTPA
• Collaborate with local schools and partners to strengthen PDS
• Engage in data-driven continuous improvement
• Perform other professional responsibilities as assigned by administration
