The Department of Forest Biomaterials at NC State is a global leader in advancing the future of biomaterials by educating future leaders and supporting industry and government research. It is part of the College of Natural Resources (CNR) and is also affiliated with the College of Engineering. The Department’s responsibilities include teaching, research, extension activities, and the awarding of undergraduate and graduate degrees.
About the Position:
The Department of Forest Biomaterials invites applicants for the Stephen H. Conger Sr. Distinguished Professor in Sustainable Materials and Technology. We seek an interdisciplinary scholar and visionary leader with a demonstrated record of success and impact, internationally recognized in sustainable materials and technology.
The position has approximately Research (45%), Teaching (45%), and Service (10%) responsibilities. The successful candidate will have an exemplary record in forest biomaterials, construction materials, and packaging materials.

Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Forest Biomaterials, Wood Science and Engineering, Sustainable Packaging, or a related field. Candidates with degrees in Mechanical, Civil, Industrial, or Materials Engineering and relevant experience in biomaterials manufacturing are encouraged to apply.
