Placements24 seeks an experienced Mine Planner for open-pit operations in Paarl. You will develop short-term and long-term mine plans, design pit layouts, roads and benches, and integrate geological data with production forecasts to maximize efficiency and safety.

Collaborating with geologists, surveyors, and operations, you will produce technical reports and schedules, ensuring plans reflect economic analyses and site constraints while supporting continuous improvements in planning processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mine planning, with a strong focus on open-pit mining.
• Proficiency in Deswik, Vulcan, Micromine or similar.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Develop and update short-term (daily/weekly) and long-term (annual/life-of-mine) mine plans for open-pit operations.
• Utilize mine planning software to design pit outlines, haul roads, ramps, and production benches.
• Collaborate with the geology team to incorporate geological models and resource estimates into mine plans.
• Work with surveyors to ensure accurate implementation of the mine plan in the field.
• Conduct economic evaluations and sensitivity analyses to optimize mine plans for profitability.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations on mine planning activities and production forecasts.
