Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is building an internal geotechnical design team to develop designs for open pits and waste rock storage facilities. We are seeking Open Pit Geotechnical Engineers to join our internal team and guide projects from scoping through active mining to closure.

The successful candidate will work with site geotechnical engineering and planning teams, mentor staff, and apply Rocscience, LeapFrog, Deswik, and Maptek tools to ensure safe, effective slope designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geological Engineering required.
• Minimum of 3 years hands-on geotechnical experience at an active open pit mine site.
• Strong experience with Rocscience, Maptek IRC, LeapFrog, Deswik or Vulcan.

Responsibilities

• Data collection and assessment of rock mass and rock fabric properties.
• Geotechnical analyses using Rocscience, Maptek IRC, LeapFrog, Deswik and Vulcan.
• Develop slope designs and ensure design compliance.
• Prepare technical memos and reports.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with site teams.
