Job summary

Sharp HealthCare in California is seeking a Surgical Technologist to facilitate safe invasive procedures, ensure proper functioning of equipment, and maintain a sterile OR environment. The role supports scrub tech duties and patient safety throughout operations.

Required qualifications include 3+ years in a hospital setting, AHA BLS, CST and CSFA or NCCT certifications, and NCCT TS-C certification. This position is union-negotiated with a sign-on incentive available.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience as a surgical technologist in a hospital setting.
• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professionals is required.
• Certified Surgical Technologists (CST) by NBSTSA.
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical First Assistants (CSFA).
• NCCT TS-C (NCCT) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Clinical practice and obstetric support as needed.
• Maintain instrument trays to match the tray list and elevate if incomplete.
• Update surgeon's preference card per process.
• Check supplies and equipment needed for procedures; scrub, gown and glove.
• Set up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment and meds.
• Perform counts with circulator before incision and before closing.
• Assist with draping, pass instruments, and maintain sterile technique.
• Prepare room for next patient and assist in room turnover.
