Qualifications

• ACLS within 6 months of employment start date
• BLS within 30 days of employment start date
• 2+ years of cardiovascular experience required
• CV experience highly preferred
• RN license
• BSN within 24 months if hired after 6/1/12

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery
• Provide patient and family education on the procedure and perioperative process
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative medications
• Assist with surgical site verification and universal protocols
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and participate in improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff
• Apply nursing process and clinical judgment to patient care
• Monitor patient condition and document changes during shift
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment, and follow-up
