Job summary

PURIS is seeking a Pipe Layer for open cut / ditch projects in Hyattsville, MD. This role involves installing sewer, water, and storm utilities, reading grade stakes, and working with a crew to ensure installations meet specs and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has at least five years of underground utility installation experience, including PVC/DI pipe and manholes, and is willing to travel as needed. This is a non-exempt, full-time position with hands-on field duties.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of experience installing underground utility systems.
• Experience laying PVC, ductile iron (DI), corrugated, Schedule 40, and Schedule 80 pipe.
• Experience installing sewer, water, and storm utility systems.
• Experience installing cast-in-place manholes, precast manholes, box-base manholes, and related structures.
• Experience reading grades and performing utility installations to specification.

Responsibilities

• Install pipe and manholes per project plans and specs.
• Ensure line and grade accuracy for all installations.
• Coordinate with operators and deck crew to streamline work.
• Assist with inspections and testing requirements.
• Read grade stakes and markings to support proper installation.
• Maintain safety practices and assist with site cleanup as needed.
