R&R Contracting Utilities, Inc. is actively seeking experienced pipe layers for water main, sanitary sewer, and storm drain projects across Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., Delaware, and Pennsylvania.

The role involves installing, repairing, and replacing pipes, reading plans, setting grades, and performing trench work in accordance with safety standards. This is a field-based position with opportunities to advance and train further.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of pipe laying experience (water, sewer, or storm drain).
• Knowledge of pipe materials (DIP, PVC, HDPE, concrete).
• Ability to read utility plans and follow grade specifications.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• Competent Person certification for trenching and excavation is a plus.
• Physical ability to work in trenches and lift heavy materials.
• Reliable transportation and valid ID.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and replace water mains, sewer lines, and storm drain systems.
• Set pipe to grade using laser levels and surveying equipment.
• Connect pipes using mechanical joints, fusion welding, or bell-and-spigot connections.
• Perform bedding, backfill, and compaction around installed pipe.
• Work in trenches and excavations following confined space and OSHA safety protocols.
• Assist with hydrostatic testing and system commissioning.
