Job summary

The University of Kansas Libraries seeks a Student Publishing and Repository Assistant to support open access publishing and repository activities. You will help editors, prepare materials for KU ScholarWorks, test publishing software, and assist in applying to indexing services for journals hosted by KU Libraries.

Qualifications include proficiency with word processing and formatting tools (Word, Google Docs, InDesign).

Qualifications

• Proficiency in word processing and formatting software, such as Microsoft Word, Google Docs, and/or Adobe InDesign, as evidenced by application materials.

Responsibilities

• Support the Digital Publishing and Repository programs, add new materials to KU ScholarWorks and to journals hosted by KU Libraries, update journal configuration settings, and test/publish using publishing software.
• Create and share statistical reports with editors and assist editors in applying to index services (DOAJ, SHERPA/RoMEO, Web of Science, Scopus, PubMed, etc.).
• Assist editors in formatting articles for publication and help colleagues with other publishing tasks.
