Job summary

The University of Kansas, through KU Libraries, seeks a Publishing and Repository Assistant to support editors of journals hosted by KU Libraries and KU ScholarWorks. You will assist with formatting, testing publishing software, and generating reports for editors, while maintaining strong customer service with users of varying expertise.

This on-site student hourly position emphasizes collaboration, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks, with a deadline-driven environment

Qualifications

• Proficiency in word processing and formatting software, as evidenced by application materials.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, as evidenced by application materials.
• Experience with online content management systems and workflows, as evidenced by application materials.
• Experience working with editors or publishing programs, as evidenced by application materials.
• Public service experience and customer service skills as evidenced by application materials.

Responsibilities

• Support Digital Publishing and Repository programs.
• Add new materials to KU ScholarWorks and journals.
• Update journal configuration settings.
• Create and share statistical reports with editors.
• Format articles for publication.
• Assist editors in indexing to DOAJ, SHERPA/RoMEO, Web of Science, Scopus, PubMed, etc.
