Job summary

Armed Services YMCA of The USA is seeking an Op Hero Facilitator for a part-time, contract position (13 weeks, 13 hours per week; 2x per year) to support school-age children identified as at-risk. The role entails implementing structured lesson plans, maintaining logs, and upholding the ASYMCA values in a classroom setting.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, strong communication skills, and experience with children in group settings. Military affiliation is preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience working with children in a group setting.

Responsibilities

• Implement and facilitate the Op Hero program for 8–12 children.
• Follow the Op Hero Facilitator Guide and ASYMCA core values in every lesson.
• Maintain attendance, logs, and weekly reports to Branch Director.
• Prepare materials, journals, and classroom tools ahead of sessions.
• Ensure safety and child abuse reporting procedures are followed.
• Arrive on time and attend required trainings and meetings.
• Assist with snacks and basic classroom operations.
