Job summary

Armed Services YMCA at Joint Base Pearl Harbor / Hickam is seeking an Operation Hero Facilitator to lead a small group of military kids through a structured afterschool program. The role is seasonal/part-time (12 weeks, about 4 hours weekly) with a pay rate of $18.50 per hour.

You will plan lessons, maintain a safe space, and report to the Branch Director. Candidates should have a high school diploma and prior experience with children; reliability and teamwork are valued.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
• Experience working with children in a group setting is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Operation Hero tutorial program and deliver its lessons.
• Develop weekly lesson plans based on Operation Hero materials.
• Collaborate with the Branch Director to secure resources and snacks.
• Review registrations and family referrals to tailor activities.
• Create and maintain a class roster with emergency contacts.
• Prepare journals, folders and classroom materials.
• Maintain an organized, safe program space and complete required documentation.
• Respond to suggestions/complaints in writing within 48 hours after consultation with Branch Director.
