Job summary

Pennymac is seeking an Ontology Product Owner to define and manage the enterprise ontology that underpins origination, servicing, and AI workflows. You will lead cross-functional teams, map source systems to domain models, and drive governance across the ontology change backlog.

You will collaborate with data engineers, business units, and executive leadership to translate business needs into measurable outcomes and ensure alignment with strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years in product management, business analysis, or data product ownership, including domain knowledge of semantic modeling.
• Experience transforming sources into conceptual models and validating with domain SMEs.
• Strong understanding of knowledge representation, data modeling, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Define ontology product vision, strategy and roadmap.
• Own end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation to deployment.
• Align decisions with revenue opportunities and cost-saving measures.
• Communicate strategy and outcomes to senior management.
• Manage ontology change backlog and governance process with domain owners.
• Partner with data engineering on hydration and data pipelines.
• Define competency questions and validation tests for models.
• Establish adoption metrics for reuse and data quality.
• Own semantic grounding layer for AI/agent workflows.
• Collaborate with business units and executives to ensure product success.
• Translate business needs into clear user stories and requirements.
• Create and maintain product documentation.
