Job summary

Bowhead seeks a Windows Systems Engineer SME to join the NSWC Corona program in Norco, California. The role is 100% onsite and requires a US citizen with an in-scope DoD Secret clearance, and a bachelor’s degree with eight years of Windows system administration experience.

Qualifications

• BS in a relevant field with 8+ years of Windows system administration experience.
• IAT Level II certification required.

Responsibilities

• Administers and supports daily operational requirements of computer network systems including workstations, file servers, and web servers.
• Serve as network SME as a leader or contributor with other network SMEs to impact network efficiency, security and upgrades.
• Installation of hardware, software, systems upgrades, network accounts, network security, and web page design, interface and updates, and local system design documentation.
• Maintain and update Cyber WorkForce (CWF) directives and certifications.
• Support directives to upgrade, maintain and optimize existing network infrastructure.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and implement network security tools including firewalls, anti-virus, and intrusion detection services.
• Trains staff on software, assists customers with IT, monitors system configuration, and provides instruction on computers and applications.
• Answer questions about installation, operation, configuration, and customization.
• Apply advanced diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes and propose solutions.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues encountered by users.
• Support includes Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems, Microsoft Office, and engineering/scientific tools.
• Install new software releases, perform system updates, patch evaluations, and resolve IAVs.
• Assist with maintenance of the organizational mailbox and implement IT procedures.
• Coordinate with ISSO for system accreditation and future IT needs.
