Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Commissioning Manager to lead the safe, efficient commissioning of water and wastewater facilities in California. This on-site role requires travel and coordination with engineering, construction, and operations teams to meet project objectives.

Qualified candidates bring at least 5 years of hands-on commissioning experience, a Bachelor's in engineering or construction management, strong client interaction skills, and knowledge of OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on commissioning experience on complex projects.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management.
• Experience interacting with clients.
• Experience using schedules, risk registers, and change logs.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements, including electrical safety.
• Ability to write technical procedures.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Experience with municipal water/wastewater projects.
• Design-Build or Design-Build-Operate delivery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed commissioning plans and checklists for field procedures.
• Execute and supervise all commissioning activities in the field.
• Coordinate between engineering, construction, operations, and subcontractors.
• Manage budget for commissioning activities.
• Develop the commissioning schedule with the project scheduler.
• Maintain open communications with the client about commissioning.
• Work with operations staff for smooth transition to operations.
• Oversee and verify commissioning documentation per project controls.
• Willing to travel and relocate to other project sites as required.
