Job summary

WM is seeking an onsite Logistics and Compliance Specialist to plan and direct activities related to the storage, transportation, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste at client sites, ensuring federal, state, and local regulations are met.

You will manage onsite personnel, liaise with clients and vendors, and maintain safety and environmental standards across operations and contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences, Accounting, Business or related field, or in lieu of degree
• High School Diploma or GED and 4 years of relevant work experience
• 2 years of relevant work experience (in addition to education)
• HAZWOPER Certification Upon Hire and
• RCRA and DOT regulatory compliance experience Upon Hire and
• OSHA 24-Hour Certification Upon Hire
• Pre-assignment and/or pre-hire drug/alcohol testing may be required by customer-contracts

Responsibilities

• Coordinate logistics for transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste from client site including profiling, scheduling, manifesting and loading
• Consult with client to identify cost-saving opportunities and proposals
• Establish clear communication channels with team and subcontractors using email, chat and video to track requests
• Prioritize urgent requests with subcontractors and inform customers of delays or changes
• Use CRM and scheduling software to streamline service coordination
• Provide excellent customer service, being responsive and proactive to resolve issues quickly
• Ensure compliance with regulations via inspections and reporting
• Administer client and vendor financial obligations including invoicing, reporting and contracts
• Promote safety culture by training site personnel on safety/environmental regs
