Job summary

Kelly Science, Engineering, Technology & Telecom seeks a VFD Technical Support Engineer to provide hands-on technical assistance for VFDs, PLCs, and motor control systems. The role involves working onsite to support customers and internal teams with troubleshooting, product applications, and repairs.

The ideal candidate has a strong electrical or controls background with practical VFD/PLC experience; PLC programming is a plus but not required. 1-5 years of experience and a BSEET/BSEE preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
• Hands-on VFD, PLC, and industrial motor control experience required.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and schematic interpretation skills.
• Experience with multimeters, oscilloscopes, and electrical test equipment.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols preferred.
• PLC programming experience a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to customers and internal teams via phone, email, and in person.
• Troubleshoot VFDs, PLCs, motor controls, and electrical systems.
• Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
• Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel drawings.
• Support VFD setup, configuration, testing, and repairs.
• Manage service requests, warranty evaluations, and RMAs.
• Coordinate with engineering, sales, and service teams to resolve technical issues.
• Document troubleshooting activities and provide customer guidance.
