Qualifications

• Requires Valid certification as Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI).
• Experience with visually impaired children is highly preferred.
• Ability to adapt instructional materials and strategies.
• Excellent communication and collaborative mindset.
• Flexible to work as floating support; caseloads vary by student needs.
• Ability to travel within the local area to support multiple students if needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and consultative instruction to students with visual impairments.
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to implement accommodations and IEPs.
• Assess, plan, and monitor progress toward student goals and skills.
• Support students in life skills, orientation and mobility, and assistive technology use.
• Maintain thorough documentation and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
