Job summary

RTX is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) team in Tucson, AZ. You will shape architecture, requirements, integration and verification for complex guided and autonomous systems, collaborating with software, hardware, modeling, and test groups.

On-site role with opportunities to influence across the lifecycle. You will develop system requirements, lead MBSE-driven design decisions, and supervise verification activities while mentoring junior

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM and at least 5 years of engineering experience.
• Experience in Autonomy, Controls, Robotics, Navigation, Embedded Systems, EO/IR Sensors, or Real-Time Systems.
• Masters or PhD in Engineering, CS, Math or Physics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and improve system and subsystem requirements for hardware and software.
• Create system architectures, interface definitions and design docs using MBSE tools such as Cameo.
• Lead updates to system requirements specs with traceability to verification objectives.
• Guide system-level integration across hardware, software, controls and embedded technologies.
• Plan and execute verification and validation strategies for qualification testing.
• Conduct trade studies and present findings to leadership and customers.
• Support troubleshooting, failure analysis and performance evaluation across system elements.
• Mentor engineers and lead technical reviews with the engineering team.
