Job summary

Translucent Services seeks a Linux Systems Administrator at Fort Meade, MD to join on-site mission operations. You will perform OS installs, file system configuration, TCP/IP networking, and troubleshooting across Linux platforms.

Responsibilities include scripting, software builds, HPC networking awareness, and managing multi-vendor servers with enterprise-level storage. TS/SCI with poly is required; candidate should have a CS-related degree and 5–7 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI clearance is REQUIRED.
• Onsite 100% of the time.
• Bachelor's degree or 5–7 years of related experience in system administration.
• One year of experience may be substituted by an industry certification.

Responsibilities

• System Administration: mission operations sustainment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Linux OS install, file system configuration, networking, and application troubleshooting.
• BASH scripting, software compilation and install.
• Knowledge of HPC architecture and high-speed networks (InfiniBand, Slingshot).
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, Slurm, git, Salt, Ansible.
• Support a large client-server IT enterprise; install, configure, and network Linux and Windows platforms.
• Oversee servers (Red Hat, CentOS, SolarisX64, SuSe, Virtual Appliances) with FC storage.
• Troubleshoot PXE, DHCP boot; manage Exchange policy and mailbox design in enterprise settings.
• Install, configure, tune and troubleshoot multi-vendor servers with diverse applications.
